Postpartum Support

For Families in Berlin & Beyond

The first 12 weeks following birth, commonly called the fourth trimester is not only a vulnerable time in your baby’s development, but also for you as you heal and grow into this new role as a parent.

This is why postpartum care is often referred to as, “mothering the mother” because a new you has also just been born.

We live away from our families and when they were not here helping, Keatyn filed that role beautifully. She gave advice, lent books, shopped, cooked wonderful meals, dis washing, tidied up and organized. she is a ray of sunshine and positive energy and deeply passionate.

Happy Families

IN HOME POSTPARTUM DOULA

It is important to take care of the parent/s, so they can rest, recover and bond with baby. Having support during this crucial time, both physically and emotionally, creates the space for you to start your new family life.

Postpartum care packages are made to fit your family’s unique needs.

I help you with
  • Healing home cooked meals
  • Light housekeeping and errands
  • Birth processing and debriefing
  • Support for your feeding journey (listening, sharing information, hands-on help with positioning while feeding baby, useful products, and referrals to lactation consultants)
  • Modeling baby care and offering gentle guidance or soothing tips
  • Practical suggestions for safe infant and family sleep solutions
  • Postpartum network support: chiropractors, paperwork experts, postpartum fitness instructors, health specialists, groups/organizations, etc) who may contribute to you and your baby’s health and wellbeing

Sessions are a minimum of 3 care hours, and I typically recommend 2-3 sessions per week, for the first 6-12 weeks after baby’s birth.

Baby Basics

These consultations are a great place for parents who would like to understand their baby a bit better, but do not wish to have continuous postpartum support. I will visit you in your home (or virtually) and we can have space to talk about your questions, concerns, or curiosities surrounding your new family member. Since babies change rapidly in the first 12 months, we can meet together as many times as is helpful for you throughout their first year.

I help you with
  • Normalizing infant behaviors and recognizing red flags
  • Learning your baby’s cues and communication styles
  • Modeling baby care and offering gentle guidance or soothing tips
  • Ideas for interacting with your baby appropriate for their age and developmental stages
  • Education and information about infant sleep needs and biology
  • Practical suggestions for safe infant and family sleep solutions
  • Exploring diapering options (disposable, cloth, and elimination communication)
  • Offering local referrals to other trusted providers (chiropractors, lactation consultants, paperwork experts, postpartum fitness instructors, health specialists, groups/organizations, etc) who may contribute to you and your baby’s health and wellbeing

Overnight Care

I help you with
  • Feeding baby (bottle or brought to the breast)
  • Support for your feeding journey (listening, sharing information, hands-on help with positioning while feeding baby, useful products, and referrals to lactation consultants)

  • Supporting the baby back to sleep (rocking, swaddling, etc)
  • Reliably responding to baby’s needs as they signal throughout the night
